  1. 500 gm Wheat and barely (broken)
  2. 500 gm Chana dal / split bengal gram
  3. 100 gm Urad dal / split black gram
  4. 100 gm Masoor dal
  5. 100 gm Arhar dal / split red gram
  6. 100 gm Rice
  7. 1 kg Mutton
  8. 4 Onion (sliced)
  9. 4 tablespoon Ginger garlic paste
  10. 3 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  11. 3 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  12. To taste Salt
  13. 4 Cinnamon stick
  14. 6 Bay leaves
  15. 1 tablespoon Garam masala powder
  16. 250 gm Oil
  17. 10 Green chilli chopped
  18. A bunch Coriander leaves (chopped)

Instructions to make to make Shahi Haleem

  1. In a pressure cooker add wheat and barley add 1 teaspoon turmeric and pressure cooked till it's become soft and tender
  2. In a pressure cooker add chana dal along with all other pulses and rice now pressure cooked till all become soft and tender so it's easy to mashed
  3. Heat oil in a cooker add 2 tablespoon onion saute till golden colour now add cinnamon, bay leaves & add mutton saute for a while
  4. Now add ginger garlic paste, red chilli turmeric and salt mix it well add 1 or 2 cup of water & pressure cooked mutton till it's become soft
  5. Now open a lid of pressure cooker sautee mutton till oil comes from sides or above
  6. Remove all oil from the mutton and keep it in another pan. (This is for tempering)
  7. Now in a big pot add wheat and barely mashed it well now add chana dal mixture mix & mashed it all well
  8. Now add mutton masala in it mix it well on low flame
  9. Now take a pan (in which you keep oil) add remaining onion saute till brown colour when it's done remove from oil and make a paste
  10. Now add this paste in a whole mixture and mix well
  11. Now add garam masala, green chilli and coriander mix well and stir continuously.
  12. When it's come to boil off the flame
  13. Now again heat remaining oil in pan and pour it on a haleem
  14. Serve hot with lemon
