  23. 2 dry whole red chilli
  24. 1/4 tsp asafoetida
  25. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  26. 1/4 tsp Fenugreek seeds
  27. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  28. For tempering:
  29. 1 tbsp clarified butter or ghee
  30. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  31. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder

Instructions to make to make Punjabi kadhi with baked pakoras

  1. For pakoras; in a bowl put all the ingredients for pakoras, except oil.
  2. Mix it properly, prepare a homogeneous mixture, the mixture should stick into balls with your hands,let the mixture sit for couple of minutes.
  3. Preheat the oven to 220°C for 15 minutes,lined a baking tray with butter paper,brush oil on it.

  8. Heat pan on medium flame,add ghee, Fenugreek seeds, cumin seeds,dry whole red chilli, mustard seeds, asafoetida,let it sputter.
  9. Now add the besan mixture,let it cook for 8-9 minutes or till it thicken in desired consistency,stir it continuously.
  10. Add pakoras and cook it for a minute in low flame.
  11. For tempering,take a small pan,add ghee, cumin seeds in medium flame,let it sputter,add red chilli powder.
  12. Immediately add the mix on the kadhi.
  13. Serve hot with steamed basmati rice, enjoy.
